Ok so I became an unbaptized publisher right? I asked the girl I study with when do I start counting time. She told me when I got to my first door and talk...I've been out twice and haven't talked yet. I talked to Nathan and he said that thats not true. You start counting the day you go out. Whether you talk or not. He wasn't positive so he called ( Read more... )

You should be counting your time as long as you have been out there, trying.
However, for whatever reason your teacher told you that, i sincerely doubt she was trying to do any sort of harm. That's just probably the way she was taught.

Keep tryin' out there, hm? It's hard and sometimes the people can be hard to deal with, but keep at it. As long as you're tryin' your very best, you will make Jehovah happy.

I was taught that you start your time when you begin service, whether it's knocking on a door, street witnessing or on a study. My mom was told the same thing, that you can't start until you find someone home or place something . That's a little unrelaible to me, only becasue there have been days when I've gone out inservice and not spoken to anyone. Does that mean I wasn't in Jehovah's work? Exactly. You might want to go to a Circuit Overseer if you have anymore questions.

What i was taught.... ichab0d September 26 2005, 05:03:19 UTC
I personally start my time as soon as i leave my house in the morning. You know, i count it as the rare occation one o fmy neighbors might talk to me about the truth. Or when im in the coffee house before service getting a morning brew. Therefore i get a huge amount.

Im so just kidding. But yeah, no, the idea is when your out in service is when you go to your first door, or when you speak to someone like maybe at a gas station after the service meeting, or whenever your doing something for jehovah out int he firld. thats the usual. Even if you dont talk, you still start your time. Thats what i was taught when i was in the pioneer service.

ive always always heard as soon as you witness...you dont necessarily have to talk to do that. going door to door without talking still counts. as does an informal witness (say if you chat with a teacher about why you dont do the flag salute). maybe your teacher was just misinformed? im sure she wouldnt want to make you confused

I too am an unbaptised publisher, and I was told that however you do count it, just make sure you're consistent with it.
