Yes, you read it right. I was contemplating global warming the other night and in my train of thoughts, I believe I have disproved the existence of God. For those that are extremely religious, it goes like this: there is no evolution because God created everything exactly how it is today; no modifications, no improvements. He didn't really build humans to live outdoors and wander as the rest of the animal kingdom does; we have no fur or blubber to keep warm, no efficient way to keep cool, and we have to eat and drink constantly. So, He gave us brains instead. This means that He knew that humans would inevitably get fed up with living outdoors and following herds. He had to know we would use these brains to make life "better" by building homes, modes of transportation, and all sorts of other things that would exploit and pollute the planet. At first, we wouldn't have the science or knowledge to know we were doing these things, but eventually, we would just like our way of life too much to change. Thus, dooming ourselves and the rest of God's creatures.
And for those that do believe in evolution, here's another head scratcher: most religious people believe God has a "plan" (otherwise, really, what's the point of having a God? Because He's not exactly the best morality police, if you know what I'm sayin'), and a lot of that majority believe He has a plan for each individual. This suggests that He is not only the creator of the past and knower of the present, but entirely omniscient. So, as he created the world and eventually, each individual, He had to know that humanity was going to band together in a mob of stupidity and destroy his creation, and that He has yet to introduce a real leader to change the course.
Which asks the question: Why would a benevolent God (which the majority of the religious population believe He is) do all of this creating just to watch us implode?
There are only two answers to this questions I can find:
1) There is no God
2) Maybe, just maybe, if there actually is a creator, He's evil or perhaps just has an enormous ego and a twisted sense of humor.
