  207. Yesterday was Movie Night with cheddar-wurst, sauerkraut, chips and dips and "Transformers" (the first one). Actually, it was a half-way decent movie as far as the story. My parents were talking about duplicating out home videos onto digital media some years ago. Don't know if they every got around to it.
Semi-relatedly, our old VCR bit the dust about 10 years ago, so my brother and I took it apart. Really interesting, even if I had no idea what most of the pieces really did. Got a nice strong magnet out of the deal too. :)

Well, I wasn't specifically thinking about converting all my analog content. I was thinking more along the lines of replacing Grateful Dead show cassettes with Dick's Picks, albums with iTunes,movies with DVDs. But now that you mention it, A-D conversion is a capability I'd like to be able to support for a few more years, anyway.

And Makers love cannibilizing tape machines. Magnets, motors, recording heads. Lots of cool stuff in there.
