-The phone was picked up, but only breathing is heard on the other end. This lasts a good few seconds before the reciever is apparently dropped and there's the sound of a person collapsing to the floor.-

Alice... Marisa... Yuki... Edward... Gokudera... W-why? Why is this...

-The names are repeated, again and again. And each time she does so, ( Read more... )

[ There is the sound of something hitting the floor upstairs, too. It's nothing serious, just Meiling setting the bed back down after hoisting it up with one hand. All this cleaning is so much easier when you can just move furniture away like that!

Deftly, she descends the stairs, wiping her hands clean on the apron that's tied very neatly over the quaint dress she's wearing. Once she catches sight of the young lady on the floor she steps right over and crouches. ] Patchouli dear, what's the matter?

[ Briefly perplexed, she nods. ] That's right. That's my name. [ And then there's that smile again as she offers her hands. ] Here, let's get you up.

-Patchouli took them without question. Regardless of which memories were true... she trusted this woman. She knew she'd be safe with her.-

[ Once on her feet -- a swift and easy move -- she helps dust her off, even if there was no dust. ] There we go. Now, how about we sit and you can tell me all about what has you so upset.

[ Leading her over to the sofa to sit down. ] Don't think I haven't noticed something's wrong. You hardly speak to your brother, and I don't even think you've played with the robot at all. [ A blink, and a crease of her brow. ] ...I mean the dog. Scruffy. Snippy? [ What was that puppy's name and why can't she remember it? ]

[ Had Koakuma slept in or what. Arriving in this new bizarre place with too much sunlight must've taken a lot out of her, more than just her wings and power. But it had been an emotional day, too.

So have the young not-devil girl coming down the stairs, speaking out as she does~ ] Miss Patchouli! I'm sorry for sleeping in! What are we...

[ About here, it's where she sees Meiling with Patchouli, having just led her to the sofa. Though she doesn't know what's going on, it makes her ask curiously, now finished with her descent down the stairs: ] Is everything okay?

-Patchouli blinked. First at Meiling. Then at Koakuma. And then? Then her head began to scream at her. And so she, in turn, also screamed, clenching her head.-

[ Meiling had turned her head to greet Koakuma -- wait, they had a guest staying over? How thoughtless! This place should really be cleaner and perhaps she should start making lunch soon. ] Hi there! Did you res-- [ She's cut clean off as she nearly jumps out of her own skin at hearing that scream so close. ] Wah! What happened?! What's the matter?!

-- Mi-miss Patchouli!! [ And here's another who jumped out of her skin at the scream, even if she wasn't as close. That would change though, when she would go rushing over to join the two, placing herself close enough to Patchouli to put her hands on her shoulders. ] Miss Patchouli! Miss Patchouli!

My head! Why does it hurt!? -The girl cried, recoiling from both of the redheads.-

Did you hit it when you fell? [ Though that doesn't sound quite right.

She glances sidelong at the other girl. ] Why are you calling her "Miss", young lady? I'm the--

[ Mother. Misses. Mistress.

Meiling shuts her eyes. ] ...no. I'm not, but... you should still...

Maybe she has a fever. [ She moves closer, trying to feel Patchy's forehead. ]
