Neville stands to ask the first question. "Did you honestly think you'd survive this long in the house, Ms Skeeter?"

Rita considered the question with a smile. "I've never really thought about it in terms of the number of weeks, honestly. It's impossible when you're in there. The time blends into itself, and you lose all sense of perspective on time. No news, no changes, just day after day. I expected to be in the house as long as the public wanted to see me there -- as long as my readers could bare to do without me. I'm pleased they enjoyed my contribution to the house for as long as they did, but going in... I really had no idea how long that would be."

Ginny stood. There were a few question she fancied asking.... Try a strightforward one for now.

"Ms Skeeter, how do you think the Ministry will react to your use of Veritaserum, a strictly-controlled substance, as a cooking ingredient?"

Rita had thought about that once or twice, but in truth she'd been more concerned with the idea of giving away her animagus secret than she was about the Veritaserum.

"I don't know," she said. "But considering I haven't already been apprehended by aurors and taken in for questioning, I think I'm safe enough. Big Brother is the Ministry, as some seem to be forgetting, and their choice while I was inside the house was to have me take the potion as well. I do hope that will do as a punishment, since my intent was merely to entertain."

Terry watched Rita carefully. This challenge was definitely in Rita's advantage. She'd had years of being the one asking the questions, after all.

"Rita," he asked finally, "how did it feel living in a house where everyone else was young enough to be your children?"

Rita laughed. "That question might be more relevant if I actually had children. I can say that I've missed my contemporaries, in some ways, but I've worked with people off all different ages over the years, and sometimes working on newspaper deadlines can be similar to living with ones co-workers. This has been different, though - and certainly an experience I'm glad to have had."
