He didn't know how to handle a baby. He didn't even know where to begin. Being an only child, and living with his grandmother, Neville had seen blissfully few babies in his lifetime, and got close to practically none. There was a tangible sensation of fear that gripped him when he glanced towards the door of bedroom two.
Ginny had to resist the urge not to burst out laughing. after spending her adult life becoming her own person, Big Brother was asking her to become the Matriarch that her mother had always wanted her to be. First the Cleaning Chores, and now this...
She looked around at the other housemates. Not exactly the parental sort, she imagined.
"So... This is our 'unconventional' family, then? I guess we should introduce ourselves to the child"
"Wait!" he cried out, horrified, stepping forwards and putting himself between Ginny and the door of the second bedroom, his eyes wide. "You can't just go walking in there and...and wake it up!" He looked at the door, as though it were the door to a tomb, with curses threatened on the door, and a walking mummy behind it. He shivered and looked back at Ginny.
"It could be dangerous," he said, his voice lowering.
With a nod, Rita made to follow Ginny, only to be cut off by Neville diving in front of the door.
"Dangerous?" Rita asked. "The only danger a baby threatens is mess on our lovely clothes." He had a point about waking it up, though. "We can be quiet? I hardly think it'll make our lives easy and sleep all week."
"You're right, Rita" Ginny nodded "It'll be tricky, but far from impossible. Anyway, if I read the note right, we each have to touch it for the task to work. I imagine BB will be ready to pounce on anyone who doesn't play along..."
She put a finger to her lips, and looked at the others, then opened the door and stepped inside.

A... what? Oh, sweet Jesus on a broomstick.
A baby?
Rita had never had children for a bloody good reason - she was, quite possibly, the least maternal person on the planet.
"What kind of bond?" she heard herself ask aloud, snorting. "I highly doubt there's anything in me to attach to a child in the first place."

This was going to be a disaster.

She glanced at Ginny with a raised eyebrow.
