can you really be happy in life without meaning? i know, i know, the writers of Heroes are the voices of universal wisdom--one guy even goes to Mosaic--but i don't think the choice is between meaning and happiness. what are the things that bring people happiness (contentment)? what is at the core of the experience or item that leads to feelings of happiness?

living a life of play doesn't usually make a person happy. it just allows people to forget how much they hurt. a life of meaning does not require 3 beers and a Jack in order to go to sleep.
