I will be attending the ball. I have never been to one before, nor heard of one.

Or maybe I have, and I don't remember.

Is there anything important I should know?

The only important thing to know is to have fun! If everyone is going to be there, it's a good chance for us all to hang out. Oh, and a lot of people dress up. And find dates, but that's more of a hassle if you ask me. It's a lot of needless stress on what should be a relaxing evening.
