On this day, I write an abstract. Thing #237 I Hate About Said Activity: I can give you a damn good idea of what my paper is on in about a hundred words. The rest is padding. And I despise padding.

But I am not here to bitch about my desperate attempts to break into academia. (That is for every other post.) Instead, I'm going to talk about ( Read more... )

I am going no where in the next year and I would give internal organs to go to any of these places (again, in the case of NY) and you need to tell me your secrets on how you get these things planned and actually, like, actualized. Because I love traveling and miss Europe and I never go anywhere and I hate that ._.

The secret to traveling is to wake up and realize that the only thing standing between you and a plane ticket is about six hundred dollars and a packed bag. It is so easy. It's like buying an expensive pair of shoes. Just man up and hand over the credit card. XD

I'm going to some vague location in the Carribean this summer. My mother got extremely lucky and won a cruise trip, so yay! I am looking forward to ambling about lazily and going out of my way to be by myself.

Your trips sound amazing. NYC is seriously one of the most fantastic places I've ever been, and I miss it every day. You are going to love it. And Turkey! And England again! I am so envious.

Caribbean! You are so lucky! Sun and beaches and pina coladas! I am seriously so jealous. I've been to Mexico, but never further south!

Ooooh, all sound incredible!!! ♥ I'm so glad you're getting these opportunities. Turkey, especially, sounds out of this world and the idea of spending a summer as a hostel worker to get to stay in England? Yes plz XD I will squee over any and all pictures and accounts you post of these places!!!

I don't have completely firm plans yet. I know for sure I'm in San Fransisco at the end of October for a weekend (Yaoi Con) and after that, nothing is solid yet. But I am working on my study abroad applications as we speak; I just haven't settled on where yet. If I pull myself together academically before October 1, I might be in Paris or St Petersburg again for the spring semester (and stick around for the summer trying to live cheap-ish seeing Europe and go to JE). My other option is to skip the European semester and apply to spend my last year of college at a Japanese university. I need the Asian language credits for my degree and they offer more of the linguistics classes I need. Gah! Why must I choose?!?
