Oh, I see. Well, dude, I like writing these posts! They're fun, and they prompt people to talk about art, and if I can flatter myself, I feel like they're a pretty rad way of making a difficult subject accessible. If you dug it, then I am okay. Plus, you teach me cool shit all the time, don't even.
Oh! I knew I had something relevant to add: in Reading Town Museum there is a life-size replica of the Bayeaux Tapestry, done by a 19th century embroiderers. Each of them has signed the bit she worked on, and a little naked guy in the original is wearing modesty shorts in the copy :-)
The museum also has a gallery dedicated to biscuits, including a biscuit that survived the Blitz. Truly, this is what England is about.
Those hangings are French, I believe, and they're called the Lady With the Unicorn Tapestries. Named for the express purpose of confusing the hell out of people. XD The hunt of the unicorn was a fairly common motif in medieval art, and I bet there are tapestries depicting it that I haven't even heard of.

I may have laughed more and learned more while reading this than I did in any of my classes. You, my dear, are epic.
When a Renaissance and a Middle Ages love one another very much, decide to get kinky, and invite the Netherlands to watch, this is what happens.
EPIC.

I always find that laughter tends to make facts stick. If you ever need to remember Harold II, well. Ye olde love machine. Log that shit away.
