News on the job front: that group that was interested in me has maintained their interest, and they've been working with some sales dude from Siemens to write up a contract for me. Said contract is now being looked over by the blood-sucking lawyers - once they're done with it, I should be able to move into my new job! Yay~~! *queue Kermit-the-Frog style arm waving*
The intranet is down right now, or at least people at my building aren't able to access intranet sites. My guess is some moron decided that, since a lot of people aren't here today (probably 90% of the blue badges decided to make a 4-day weekend of it), today would be a good day to implement some funky shiz on the domain controllers or the proxy servers or possibly on the network switches and thus to break them. It took a good 20 minutes just to get logged into my computer this morning, and I haven't been able to access either email or the SR tracking tool all day. I'm sure some people have opened SRs today, but I have no way of knowing who they are or how to contact them. But hey, at least I can get to external websites - web browsing is really all I was planning on doing today anyway.
Tonight I'm headed down to Mom's to hang out for the 4th. Will be taking the Gamecube with me so that I can instill the ph33r of the Loaf in my bro. We're not planning anything fancy for the holiday, just some beer, barbeque, and relaxation.
My credit card is now down to $500. This is from about $3500 at the beginning of the year. Go me! :D I'll have it paid off in a few more weeks...then I just need to get Eddy's parents to pay me back the 2 grand they owe me for plane tickets to Thailand, which is sitting on my other credit card that was, previous to said tickets, paid off. But once they pay me back I'll be in good shape for condo-buying.
There are many many items sitting on my Amazon wishlist that must be bought, yesss Preciousss. *salivates over pretty bookses* We'll see how much money is left after the nasty billses are paid, and if there's enough, Hanna's going shopping. ^_^
