[Not your normal Omi]

It's night, and Omi's sitting on the roof of a building. You might notice that there's something rather... off... about the smallest kitten. The full moon's light doesn't help much, but does his skin look a bit paler to you? And are his eyes just a bit brighter and a more clear blue than you remember ( Read more... )

Unfortunately for Omi, undoubtedly his favorite member of Schwarz has a habit of frequenting - or at least jumping around on - rooftops; in fact, Omi has had some first-hand experience with that in the past. Of course, it's not chance that brings Schuldig to Omi's particular roof; Omi and Aya are usually the most miserable members of Weiss, and their emotional agony draws the Mastermind like an angst-seeking missile whenever he picks up on them. It's even enough to get him venturing out on a windy roof in winter, and the telepath is no great fan of cold ( ... )

If he expected Omi to be startled, well, that was his second mistake. His first was dismissing the changes to the boy. He turned slowly to face him, his eyes shone with a hunger that was completely foreign in the innocent boy.

Correction. Formerly innocent boy.

His heightened senses had told him the moment Schuldig got close, and since he hadn't attacked, he knew the telepath was here to toy with him. Let's see how he liked being toyed with back.

"Not anymore, apparently," he replied, sounding rather bored.

Schuldig cocked an eyebrow. It wasn't that he'd simply assumed Bombay hadn't heard him coming; what he had assumed was that the lack of any action on the boy's part, any yelling or accusations or attacks, could only mean that Omi wasn't aware of him yet. What were the odds that Omi had forgotten their little game, and the fallen pawn that had been Ouka, so quickly?

But Omi was definitely aware of him now, and no outrage was forthcoming...so clearly his initial assumption had been wrong.

And that look in the boy's eyes...that was new. And, as a result, intriguing. If there was anything the Mastermind lacked, it was the common sense to recognize and acknowledge dangerous courses of action(Ouka proved that, and the bruises had taken weeks to go away). He'd spent so much time with Schwarz, being virtually untouchable, that he'd almost forgotten the meaning of fear, or consequences. The hunger in Omi's eyes was thus something to investigate rather than be wary of ( ... )

"Not long enough, Schwarz." He was hungry, yes, but hunting this prey could prove to be more work than he was willing to put out. That, and, well... there was plenty of other food down below, if he chose to have a meal.

Omi looked him down. They'd fought before, of course, and the older man had gotten the better of him. With his new reflexes and strength... it would be a much different outcome.

If Ken was a lesser wolf, he'd be running amok on the streets right now. As it was, the compulsion to run was irresistible--but he could do so without terrifying everyone in the city, and could even do so outside wolf form. If he wanted.

But at the moment, he didn't want. At least until he caught a familiar scent on the wind, the smell of another predator, overlaid with the scent of someone that, as he recalled, shouldn't be anything of the sort. He hadn't missed that much by going off to retake his pack's territory, had he? Surely Ran or Youji would have gotten in touch with him.

Panting slightly from his running across rooftops, Ken padded over to look at Omi questioningly, before his body twisted and stretched, returning to its other shape.

"...Omitchi?"

Omi sensed him before he spoke. He turned, and looked at the other. This was one of his... one of his friends, right? Surely... surely what he was wouldn't matter... Even if he was one of the Dark Beasts they'd vowed to fight.

"K-kenken?" he replied hesitantly, returning the silly nickname.

"...seriously, I go to Hokkaido for one month and you end up getting Turned? I'm never leaving again." He approached fearlessly--trusting completely that Omi wouldn't try anything with him--more concerned that this had happened in the first place than the end. How had Ran let their leader get Turned? Or Youji, for that matter?

"Omi, what happened?"

You smell... a bit different from what he remembers. Omi shook his head, figuring he hadn't taken a bath after messing with some dog at the park.

"My Master gave me a gift."
