I waited until you were done posting all of it to read it cause I can't do ongoing things....^^;;
I did really enjoy reading it and I'm always starving for rycol fics so no, it certainly wasn't a waste of your time. At least not from where I'm standing. I hugely appreciate the fact that you spent your time writing and posting this!
I think that scene in the hotel room where Colin cleaned Ryan's knife wood and confronted him about Dan is my favourite overall. :-)
I loved the reconciliation Colin planned for Ry and his family and it figures that Dan would have interfered with that as well.
Speaking of which, has Ryan ever said he has a brother named Rob anywhere? Or did you guess on it?
Anyway, thanks for sharing this story, I'm looking forward to anything else you might post. :D

And someone read it! Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm always on the lookout for more (and hopefully longer) RyCol fics, too, so I understand your pain.
The knife wound aftercare is my favorite part, too, and was the most challenging and fun thing to write out of the whole enchilada. Ryan's just so trusting... As far as the reconciliation goes, I felt it was necessary in an effort to sort of give back all of Ryan's life that he lost due to Dan's interference and give him a happy ending. Ryan hasn't mentioned a Robert in any of his interviews, to my knowledge, but wikipedia says he has four older siblings and google says he has a brother named Robert. So I just ran with it.
I've got like four or five stories that are half done and hope to post, so keep your eyes peeled!

I think that's kind of what Colin thought when he tried to involve them. Thanks again for commenting!

Its a great look at a more vunerable Ryan than I am used to reading and his charcterisation really was the highlight for me.
A great way to return to the fandom so thanks very much for this.

I think Ryan comes off as more vulnerable because he's in a very different situation. Would he even be as confidant an individual had he not met Colin when he did?
