quick as dreams

Apparently, I want to burn off all my half-finished kinkmeme fills before the month is up. Or something. This is an odd one, and more pre-slash than slash. Title is swiped from a Slaid Cleaves song.

.quick as dreams
if you want to get out of this town, it's gonna be a long slow burn. (or, the one where arthur grew up in the circus.)

Lovely as always, and a fascinating backstory for Eames, Mal, and Arthur.

Thank you! I'm not sure if I've ever written backstory like this, it was--interesting? I guess?

Oh, very interesting and different. I like the slow and hazy pace of it, the way they connect so glancingly for so many years but it makes all the difference.

Nice. :)

Thanks. There was a point midway through where I wondered if maybe I should shift it so the whole thing was a dream, because it was so hazy, but--I settled on not.

You are fickle, my friend. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

This was lovely! I liked how they orbited around each other, meeting only rarely but feeling drawn to each other every time. Mal was also wonderful here, ethereal and out of sync with the rest of them. And Yusuf! Can't make curry! :D

Thank you! I don't write Mal much, so it was interesting to include her more.

And Yusuf! In my head I just imagine him being like, "Don't think we can friends just because we're both British*, AND DON'T THINK I'LL MAKE YOU TAKEAWAYS."

*my head canon for Yusuf is that he's a British ex-pat; I think it's one of the only head canons I pretty much never deviate from in my fic.

Ha ha I love the Yusuf in your head! I'll buy him as a British ex-pat much more readily than him being from anywhere else, because of the accent he has in the film. It's a little more high class than Eames's, too, I think. But then Tom Hardy always sounds a little rough and tumble to me. (And that's the way I like it!)

Now I want a backstory about Yusuf and Eames meeting and becoming buddies. <3
