ok, all intelligent commentary aside, the thing that gets me the most about that oft-published gillibrand photo is how ABSURDLY photoshopped it looks. can i use the fact that i find it SO distracting as a reason im pretty ill-formed about our newest senator at the moment? (a lot of the time i need to rely on your lj to get my head in the game, and am continually pumped you are who you are, my friend ("and she's my friend.")
ALSO, re: The Great Upstate Debate (not so much as debate as THE FUCK? where has all the logic gone?!) After almost 4 years of going to school "upstate" in Newps, well, if I had a nickel...It's a never ending battle I'm afraid, and I will be forever, forever, shaking my head.
Agreed! Just as many upstaters are urbanites, many (more) are suburbanites, and many are progressive country bumpkins.
And I haven't written off Gillibrand yet: "With Ms. Clinton and Mr. Schumer, Ms. Gillibrand said she discussed the possibility of creating a high-speed rail line that would run north up the New York State Thruway corridor, cross the state to Buffalo, then head back south, forming a triangle that would allow more jobs to move to the state's northern regions."
