Well OK not all is good with the world - I woke up this morning and walked down to Mr. Mike's on the corner (our 24-hour convenience store here in town) to get milk for breakfast, and found that gas had gone up to $1.75/gallon (it had been $1.54 or so the night before). Josiah, there is so much I want to say about all of this, and I totally don't have the capacity right now (ahem -- drunk) to say it. But check out my journal entry, it is a vague attempt. But dude - Kiwi, can I please please be one of the people at the farm? And to both of you, you mean so much to me when I'm up there, I hope that you'll be there for me at least some of the time next semester.

This all made total sense to me. I found myself completely understanding everything you're trying to say. I agree about the world. It feels very wrong somehow. There's something bigger, and it doesn't feel GREAT, ya know? Like....I don't know. Like something bad is in charge. I'm hoping the Good is just biding His/Her time, and then stepping up to take care of all this bad. It feels like that, somehow.

Anyway...I'm glad I met you two. Keep in touch. :)

castle winchester comes to mind every time i think about carving out a little space in the world where things feel good in the midst of all the fucked-up-ness.
that post was completely what i needed to read in my post- summer's end funk.
and all you kids should come over sometime soon and have dinner and beer and fun. that is all :)

Or, YOU could come over HERE (grin). Yes, we'd love to see you. Say hello to all those people you know that I know too but you hang out with and I don't from me.
