From the "Fact or Crap" 2007 calendar. You decide.
Fact. Dave Kapell, a poet & songwriter born in 1962 learned that David Bowie would cut out words that appealed to him and put them together to get his creative juices flowing. Kapell began to do the same to write poetry, but he glued the words onto magnets to keep them from blowing away. when he put them on his refrigerator, Magnetic Poetry was born. It is now available in many versions, including Cat Lovers, Shakespeare, Erotic, and languages such as Spanish, Italian, and American Sign Language.
On a side note, I'm related to Dave Kapell by marriage. My dad's second cousin's second husband is Dave Kapell's father. I thought that was pretty cool when I found out a few years ago.
