To anyone who has driven the Great Ocean Road, what are the best things to see, the best towns to stay in, and the best pubs to drink at?  I will be heading down there in four weeks and am trying to create an itinerary.

Any help much appreciated!

Hey. I didn't stay anywhere, coz I had my sis in melbourne to base from, but the whole great ocean road is stunning. You'll be going at a time where there's no school hols right? Coz everything is packed then.

Point Lookout Lighthouse is wonderful, as are the Apostles and London Stacks (formerly London Bridge).

There's also an area where you can park and walk around looking at old shipwreck sites etc, but I can't remember what it's called.

The towns along the route are very touristy - I basically passed right through them - but every inch of the road is breathtaking!

I'm jealous that you're goin. I'd love to go back down there...
