It's interesting that you point out Hyuk's self-satisfaction here. It was at a time when he had been truly proud of what he's accomplished, gym-wise, and I had the feeling that it'd be a not so far off idea he'd find himself attractive, while still feeling insecure. And then Tablo comes in and sticks a bagel on him and is bigger than him in more ways than one...

I didn't manage to address the issue directly since... "this is smut who cares" but if this were a different sort of genre, I might've pulled an angst ending where Hyuk frets and Tablo doesn't sense a problem, and instead would blow up the insecurity to an unhealthy proportion... events culminating to a point where Hyuk finally breaks down and time is the only thing Tablo has to help bring him back up. lol.
