"I am a Muslim, because it's a religion that teaches you an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. It teaches you to respect everybody, and treat everybody right. But it also teaches you if someone steps on your toe, chop off their foot. And I carry my religious axe with me all the time."Kind of self-contradictory there... What most people don't seem to realize these days is that "an eye for an eye" was, when it was introduced, a call for moderation, not extremism. "An eye for an eye" says that, if someone steps on your toe, then you're entitled to step on theirs. Chopping off their foot is right out

I'd have to completely agree with you. Nice points.
And I am almost entirely in favor of bringing back lashings - particularly for teenagers. If you've ever had something you own tagged with grafitti you'll know exactly what I mean.
ohhhh now, those teenagers were simply creatively expressing their oppression and marginalization .... or, however that apologist sappy-happy clap-trap for bad behavior goes.
oh wait, my dry cleaner can't find my suit pants, ... I'll sue this little mom & pop establishment for major bucks ... for damages, mental anguish .... and mileage to take my business elsewhere....
I don't know who to put in the pillory first, ... the criminals ..... or the lawyers.
