Iiiiif you actually were looking for constructive criticism, my only suggestion would to be to kill as many of the non-"said" speech words as possible. Said is best! Just use 'said.' Let the dialogue itself do the heavy lifting. I'm no adverb hater like some famous authors we know, but I will ride the 'just use said!' train to the ground.

Caillou could always feel his blood thaw with the coming of the warm weather. Simply, he could put up with winter because he never got tired of watching the world wake up again.
I like all of this and am intrigued to find out more more more about these guys, but the above just struck me in paticular :D
