Hello there, LJ land. Yes I have been back a few days and I didn't sleep all the time (but quite a lot of it), but I've somehow found it difficult to reconnect again. Even now I'm just trying to start and still clueless about the best way to proceed, seeing as my f-list doesn't track back as far and all. Nothing to recap really - JKR stated officially that Dumbledore was gay, and every fan had to voice their opinion about that.

Ah. Sounded like something bigger. It makes me wonder, of course, what the purpose of official statements like that might be? Seems to take the fun out of slash, a bit...

Everyone voicing their opinions included the slash writers all screaming "duuuh" which was drowned out by uptight closed minded freaks calling for the banning of the books because of the gay character (in places where they did not succeed with the cries of witchcraft).

Wah.

Oh well, some people... the would-be inquisitors are so too late, though, pity. ;-)
Anyway, I do prefer it when people's sexuality is as undefined as possible. Allows for more speculation.

Thankyou! As I said, I find it hard to write anything right now, but once we've sorted out our 2000 plus photos, I should at least be able to make a picture post with comments or something. For the time being, try yakkie's posts.

Why thanks! There will be more, probably in unsorted snippets hidden among the whining that will soon take over this space again... ;-)

(Oh, er, that... I officially gave up on the whole degree idea sometime last year. Should have done that fanfic one right back in 2003, now there's way too much writing out there anyway. Could try to PhD on Tosca triva, though.)

sounds good, PhD gives you some more time to do what you really like - and offers lot's of escapes :)
