So, I commented on a post in katara_zuko, intending to keep it short and simple, but I... kinda went into a huge, essay-like rant. ^.^;;

I'm kinda happy with ho it turned out, so I figured I'd post it here for safekeeping.

Wow. Just, wow. This makes some seriously good points that I agree with totally. For every single ship you talk about. Damn. I want to write a post-series fic doing these pairings right. Such a big time-commitment though...

Personally, one of my favorite things about Zutara (besides all the stuff you already said) is that they make each other stronger and yet can allow each other's weaknesses too. They've seen each other at their best and their worst, and they don't have to pretend to be strong when all they really need is to break down and cry. The other one is perfectly able to pick up the slack AND provide comfort.

Gah, I love Zutara so much. Just reaffirming it all for me. Thanks. :)

Yes! Exactly! That's what I love about them, too - because they had such a tumultuous past, they can accept the good, the bad, and the ugly about each other. They don't hold one another up on a pedestal of perfection or think the worst of each other, unlike certain other people. >.>

I wanna fix this mess with fanfic, too. It just takes so looong~
