great. facebook gets crappy as soon as I register for it .... waitaminute, are you trying to say something?? ; ) erm, as for books ... ::sigh:: I haven't been reading much for pleasure, frankly. I did really enjoy "a short history of nearly everything" by bill bryson. and I'd highly recomend "march of folly" by barbara tuchman, though it's a very dry book.
Yeah at first I was upset by the new facebook, but once I realized I can "hit the X button" it brought out the bad side of me. I can know what lots of other people are doing without them having to peep into my affairs! It really does save time.
Facebook just brings out the stalker and gossip in us all (or is it just me?). It's not good, and yet I'm drawn to it.
I never visit Facebook anymore unless a sleazy 60 Minutes special reminds me of it. Livejournal's just so much more satisfying - whenever you've run out of strangers to stalk, just look up a rare obsession/disorder/political opinion and you're good to go again!
In terms of books, I looooved Jonathan Strange, as you probably remember (that time when I didn't want to study for exams and was ill-tempered when taken from my book...) It's not a book you can zoom through, though, too meaty and too much description and interesting historical background. So continue slowly!
Books you should read next: -Anything by John Irving (start with The World According to Garp) -some of the Amelia Peabody mysteries by Elizabeth Peter, if you haven't already -The Bride Stripped Bare by Nikki Gemmell (formerly anonymous)
