Have you tried the HDDs in another computer, like mom's or something? If they still don't work, maybe it's only the HDDs that don't work and putting in new HDDs into your old system will get it working again.
Are you coming down in October with mom?
Oh yeah, Fallout 2 was the "Fallout copy" disk. I relabelled it preperly, so we have one of each.
I know the HDD's work. Just not with my current set-up. And I can't hook up the new one to the old board since it doesn't have the right connections (SATA). I'll figure out something eventually.
I probably won't come down in October.
And I can't seem to find my Fallout disks. Wondering if you took them.
Why don't you do the slow thing and just use a middle-man external HD or something to transfer files over?
I have the Fallout disks. I needed them to "show" the game to some other people and it's awesome full install capabilities. If you want them back, I'll send them back with mom when she comes down.
Why aren't you going to come down? Free banquet and you keep mom company while she travels down - though now you can drop her off and pick her up from the bus station. If you get your computer working and all the stuff transferred, I'd eventually like the episodes of xxxHoLic Kei that you downloaded for me (3-8). Those ones are a bit too lightly seeded for me to get here since my Internet connection to my computer is extremely spotty and random.
Oh, have you started reading JPod yet? I'd like to know what you think of it.
Because that would require me to rebuild the old computer. And I'm already using some of the old parts in the current build. It might be possible for me to scavenge some parts to make it work. It'll just take time.
Again, I'll just have to see how things are. I may be working, or I may be tempted to do my own trip.
