It continued to amaze Yuuri that as different as Shin Makouku was from Earth some things were exactly the same. The peculiar crisp flavor of the air that heralded the arrival of fall was one such thing.
As he stood at the window enjoying the unexpected reminder of home his eyes came to rest on the moon, faint but nearly full against the morning sky. He smiled, remembering the fuss his mother made each autumn preparing moon cakes and sake and making sure their family would have a perfect spot to view the harvest moon.
Yuuri sighed. Although time progressed differently on Earth than it did in Shin Makouku, there was a very real possibility that he would not be home in time for this year's moon viewing.
