Summary:My universe, Speed lives in this, but he hurts Ryan (not like that) in the past. Their relationship is in the past, and Ryan/Eric will be along shortly. Right now Ryan will go through a little bit of hell first with the guy he met after the breakup. And (poor Ryan) his trust will break even more.
Warning:smut, good old fashioned smut. It is a m/m fic, so you have been warned.
A/N: Don't own, just borrowing. Am making no money so don't sue. This is my first fic so please tell me if I am doing anything wrong, but no flames please. Is AU. I can't read every story out there no matter how hard I try, so if this is like something you've read before, please let me know. I do not want to infringe on anyone's territory. Or not give credit were it's due. I am using all the knowledge I have on the subject of police work. Not much. So if some one could tell me if I'm doing something wrong, I'd be grateful.

Previous Chapters “Whoa!” Speed shouted as he was pulled into the locker room. “What is with you?”
“I need to ask you something.” Eric said, shutting the door behind them.
“And you needed to pull me in here to do that?” Speed took a good look at his friends face then burst out laughing. “Yes, he was.” He managed to gasp out.
“Who was what?” Eric looked at Speed like he’d lost his mind.
“Ryan.” Speed sank onto the bench before he hit the ground.
“Ryan was what?” Eric was confused now. “Would you stop laughing!”
“Sorry, sorry, sorry.” Speed stopped laughing and tried to get his breathing under control. He snorted one last time. “Sorry.” Speed sighed then smiled. “Ryan’s horny isn’t he.”
“How’d you- Never mind.” Eric waved a hand between them and scowled.
“Does it bother you?” Speed was suddenly scared he was going to lose his best friend.
“What? No.” Eric waved his hand again.
“Then what’s wrong?”
“He’s… horny all the time now.” Eric whispered.
“I’m sorry, but I’m not seeing the problem. What’s the problem?” Speed asked him.
Eric made a strange noise in the back of his throat. Then whispered. “What if I hurt the baby?”
“Unless you bodily fall on Ryan or set out to intentionally do that, you’re not going to hurt the baby.”
“What if I hurt Ryan.”
“Have you ever before hurt him during-”
“No!” Eric cut Speed off.
“Then you’re not going too. Relax and enjoy it. Because you sure as hell aren’t going to get couple time after the baby comes.” Speed smiled and patted Eric on the back. “Like I said, relax and enjoy it. And one other thing.” He paused, turning at the doorway. “Actually, I think I’ll let you find out for yourself.” And with an evil smile, Speed departed the locker room.
“That’s so sad. He’s she didn’t love him enough to help save him. And he just gave up and let go.” Ryan sniffled and wiped away the tears streaming down his face. “It’s her fault he’s dead.” he let out a little growl.
“Baby, it’s The Mummy Returns. Imhotep is the bad guy, he’s supposed to die. That’s the way it works.” Eric rubbed Ryan’s back.
“But it’s so sad. They’re supposed to be a great eternal love, and she doesn’t even give enough of a shit to save him. But at least she got what she deserved in the end. Even if that part where you can just see her eye is a bit Grudge-ish.” Ryan sighed as he settled into Eric’s side.
They had been lying on the couch in relative silence since the movie ended when Ryan felt Eric tense.
“What’d she want Eric?” Ryan asked, slowly sitting up.
“She wants me to come by for a family dinner.”
“You should go.” Ryan smiled.
Eric sighed and sulked. “She didn’t invite you. And, I don’t want to have dinner with them.”
“Then don’t have dinner. Go in, say hi, and leave.”
“You think they’d let me just leave?”
“Go after you get off work.”
“Why after work?” Eric smiled at Ryan.
Ryan smiled back. “Because that way you have a weapon. Want something to eat?” Ryan asked getting up.
“Sure.” Eric stifled the laugh and followed Ryan into the kitchen.
Eric stood outside his childhood home just staring at the front door. He nearly turned around and walked away before he knocked. Eric heard voices and then silence on the other side of the door before it suddenly burst open.
“What are you doing knocking. Why didn’t you just come in?” His mother asked from where she had flung open the door.
“I’m welcome to do that?” Eric’s voice dripped with sarcasm as he asked the question.
“You speak to your mother that way?”
“You speak to my husband that way.” Eric replied coolly.
“How could you.” His mother once again hissed at him before falling silent.
They stared at each other in stony silence before Eric turned around.
“Where are you going?”
“Home. This was a mistake.” He got in his car and drove home.
Eric found Ryan in the kitchen putting icing on a cake. Baking wasn’t something Ryan did often, but every now and again Eric and Jay would come home to something wonderful made by the man standing in front of Eric. He loved seeing Ryan like this, he was happy and confident and beautiful. And Eric needed to hold on to him when he broke.
Ryan felt Eric the moment he had stepped into the kitchen. Ryan didn’t turn around until he was done. He took one look at Eric’s face and was across the kitchen in a heartbeat.
“Oh baby.” He wrapped his arms around Eric’s neck and held on as he started to cry.
Sobs shook his whole body as he clung to Ryan. When they finally started to subside he realized three things. Ryan hadn’t let go of him, they were on the kitchen floor, and Ryan was telling him it would be all right.
“Come on.” Ryan got up and pulled Eric into the bedroom. He undressed Eric and put him to bed, crawling in beside him. “It’ll be okay. Everything will work out, you’ll see.” Ryan whispered as Eric pulled him close. And as Eric fell asleep in Ryan’s arms, he believed it would be.
