The only time I've ever been protective of a celebrity is with Craig, and that's more because I know him more as a person than as a celebrity. I can understand how they might have thought they were protecting his kids for him, but that's HIS job, not theirs.

Jack Johnson, though. Mmm mmm good.

I would have taken the pictures. If Jack Johnson wants to say something to you about it, then you get to talk to him AND you can show him that there are no pics of him on your camera.

Exactly what I was about to say, and definitely what I would have done. There's no reason for anyone to think you couldn't take pictures of the scenery, and as long as you weren't taking pictures of him and his family he really has no right saying you can't take pictures in his vicinity.

That's ridiculous. If we assume that he doesn't want his picture taken because he values his privacy, then it's reasonable to infer that he would appreciate your not noticing who he is. On the other hand, this crap just draws attention to himself, which, if that's what he wants, should suggest that he would want as many pictures taken as possible.

Just ignore those girls.

FWIW, I don't think there's a single celebrity I would recognize on the street. OK, maybe the main cast of Star Trek.
