The most local brewery to Colchester is Mersea Island Brewery. I imagine that their wares will be available in pubs there :)

Shep my man you have a plan! :D maybe worth having a toddle down the road to this pub thats arround the corner the hotel bar i guess will stock the usual.

They'll probably have Greene King IPA on tap, too, which is quite nice (albeit weak) and brewed in Bury St Edmunds, which isn't that far from Colchester :)

Colchester is much nicer in the summer, but check out the Castle Park if you can! It's not as good as it used to be ^_^

Didnt get chance to leave the hotel in the end, what a shame! the steak was nice however :) next stop bristol :3 Hopfuly this time will be more fruitfull and if memory is right they ahve a gym! FANTASTIC :D
