What does the number 1244 mean to you???
To me it equals the number of days I went without an accident. *frown* 1244 days or 3years 4months 28days....
Yesterday on the way home from work a 20'ish year old kid cut across 3 lanes of traffic going Right to Left and between 2 tractor trailer trucks to come directly in front of me. I saw him just in time to avoid hitting his drivers door, but still got him in the left-rear quarter panel (i.e. the piece of the car above the rear wheel that goes to his trunk).
This was at 7:31pm and I called 911 right away. Then after checking myself for damage, checked my truck and the other driver. Truck (Durango) is damaged on both right front and left front (left side from hitting the concrete median) and his had the damage listed above. No injuries prolly due to the presence of seatbelts and lack of speed (35mph tops).
In any case the cops did not arrive until 8:40pm, they had 'trouble' understanding how I was in the Left lane and still hit him when he was in the Right lane and missed the trucks in the center lane....I guess the fact I finally DREW it out for them on paper made them understand that he was going FROM the Right lane through the Center lane (remember between 2 trucks) INTO the left lane (where I was) turned on the light bulb. They finished up the 'paperwork' around 9:30, said he was 'mostly' to blame but did not elaborate further nor did they give us a copy of the report. Just the case number "So your insurance company can contact us should they wish".
Ah well - at least I made it this long without an accident. Previous record from 98 to the present was only 14 months....guess I am getting better. *sigh* ah well..
