Fun and interesting couple of days. Progress has been made which is good. Things that once bothered me no longer do and thats really a stellar feeling. Also spent about 2 hours yesterday online looking for a job that would grab my attention. No luck, of course, but its a start. Who woulda thought there aren't many jobs to get payed for riding jet ski's? Uhhm, what else, what else? Almost had to let the darker side of Protector-Leo out but that was avoided. Grr. Got told I was to be covered in blue cheese. That was interesting too. The timing was the immaculate part. Friends dealing with headaches that are just part of life but all in all everyone seems to be doing pretty well. Things are good.
Oh, and saw the most recent Star Wars lastnight. As I've not kept up with much of the story nor the genre it wasn't as much of a let down to me as it seems to have been for others. I enjoyed the story, the acting was lack luster at moments but well enough and in the end I wasn't disappointed by the epic fights. Thats where it counts for me but I am simple. Watching the taint and corruption one can befall for any number or reasons and just watching the twisting, spiraling path down to the bottom when Anikan is so far gone that he doesn't register who he is hurting or why.. Wow.. Although I have to say, when his female counter part (forgive me for I can't spell) mentioned something of fleeing to another planet and having only their love (I <3 quotes) and he says its not enough I was fully expecting a small transformation from Obi to Christian in Moulan Rouge and a quick chorus of 'All you need is love' but I could see how that could take away from the movie as a whole. I liked it, I will see it again, he could have come up with a better story for Darth Vader but his reaction at the end was more then enough to validate it for me. And I will always love the sound of a French Horn which was flagrant through the movie as it has been through most.
Oh, and on an interesting note, leaving the movie I got one of those random, 'You wouldn't happen to be Leo Porebski would you?' from a scruffy lookin and slightly portly gentlemen with already thinning hair. After a blink I recognized him from about 3 years ago at USF's marching band when he thought I was great and I thought he was odd. He was still odd. We spoke for a few, recalled an old time or 2, he told me he was graduating as an electrical engineer and I was impressed. Also pointed out how behind I am but in the end I know I will finish school so I'm not worried. The humorous part was we parted ways, then as the walk to the cars progressed we happened to reunite at which point he offered me a swig of some sort of sun tan lotion smelling booze (not parrot bay) which I partook of for it would just be rude to say no to a gentlemen under such a circumstance. Wasn't bad, shoulda asked what it was but in the end 9 years of music and 6 years of marching climaxed in a swig from a flask.. sounds about right.
And then the odd dream lastnight when I had to do yard work at my home back in Texas because people who recently moved in were moving out and needed assistance.. I woke myself up from that one..
And finally because, like herpes, these things get around..
1. Reply with your name and I will write something random about you.
2. I will then tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I will pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in. (This should be embarressing...)
4. I will say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5. I will tell you my first memory of you.
6. I will tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll then ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. Put this in your journal, or else!
