Will put in a real update soon but basically there are highs and lows as usual. Been reading Kushiel's Dart which I could say a lot about but I really like it. Had a fun and relaxing time in NC and a interesting return trip and will never use United again. Learned a lot about a lot in the past week or 2. Got talked to at work. All sorts of fun ( Read more... )

Kushiel's Dart is awesome! The second and third books are even better.

Its definately an awesome book. The thing that really makes it unique for me though is that its illistrating to me just how much I've grown and changed in the past year+. For example, a year ago I probably wouldn't have been able to make it through the whole book. I probably would have grown uncomfortable and stopped reading it due to some of the content I wouldn't have been able to handle. Basically, of all the characters I've encountered so far I could empathise with Josceline the most in those old days. None of it would have made sense and my instinctive reaction to every 'assignation' would have been like his.. wanting to break someone. Don't get me wrong, a good portion of me is still very sheltered and my understanding still minimul but I am loving the book and, for the first time, starting to get a understanding for political games. If only I could remember all the damned names.. Long story short, half way done with the 1st and looking forward to the 2nd and 3rd.

Oh, and I have about a dozen quotes marked just because they either made me laugh or were just spectacular lines. :OD

Well, good for you! The third book will be hard for you. Stick with it. Its by far the darkest.

The nice thing about it, is that somehow, Carey makes it okay to be a bit shocked and put off with what Phedre is doing. I think the readers understanding grows along with Joscelin's. If you ever need to bounce questions or ideas off of someone with a bit more understanding, feel free to hit me up on AIM, sn is on my info.

The names are a pain in the ass. I found myself flipping to the front a hundred times the first few times I read it, for the names, and to remember how person x related to person y.

Its one of those things that makes more sense the second time you read it. You catch things you didnt get the first time.

Castlevania: SOTN is still on my top ten list of video games I've ever played. They've made a slew of GBA games that are similar, but that was the one that really perfected what the metroid series had started moving towards. Doesn't really have a name, but you know what I'm talking about. That genre of action game where there is still plenty of RPG-type stuff to get.

I really liked SOTN and it was definately fun although it felt kinda short and the final fight was less then I expected. I actually was expecting to keep going after the fight but I liked the twist it had. Definately a fun experience.

You gonna play the Final Fantasy's next? I agree that the Castlevania's were nice,(especially loved the music, haha) but FFVII, though confusing, has to be one of my favorite games of all time. (The concept of evolving materia is quite amazing.) Of course FFX and FFX-2 are close seconds. And whoa, the graphics of X and X-2 are breathtaking.

Glad you had fun in NC, hon; sorry about "United-Express..."

No worries about United.. like I said, after it was all over it wasn't so bad but during the trip it sucked. And yeah, my next game to conquer is FFVII before Advent Children comes out so I can get an understanding for it :OD

If you need the strategy guide for VII if you want. I am so very excited about Advent Children. I heard that it may make a few of the obscure plot lines from 7 a little bit clearer (here's hopeing :) ) All I have to say is that when you play it, Tifa beats Areris' ass anyday. The rest of the characters are soo damn cool too. And Cloud is a million times better than that stupid Squall from VIII. Grr... Don't get me started on that one :)
