Don't you hate it when you chop fruit, or something sweet on a chopping board that - although it was cleaned - was previously used to chop onion. And then you have a big mouthful, and it tastes like onion. X____X

We have had the same issue (and garlic and chilli more so than onion) with wooden spoons as well. And I have a wooden salad bowl that is actually supposed to be infusing everything with garlic, that I use for caesar salads.
Oh, rather. I find that bleaching one's cutting boards every fortnight does a lot to offset that. I've stopped for now, because I can't find any eco friendly bleach.
