Day 01 - Introduce yourself, in great detail Day 02 - Your first love, in great detail Okay, so it looks like you guys will be getting two TODAY since I failed yesterday.
Okay, I discussed my parents briefly in my first entry, so I guess I get to say so much more.
Let's start with my mother. My mom is amazing. She's so dedicated to her family, even the ones who aren't worth dealing with it anymore. My mom is pretty easy going with us, since she knows we're people too and have social lives, so she let's us do basically whatever we want as long as a) we tell her where we're going to be, who we'll be with, and how long we'll be out and b) don't do anything illegal.
My mom has been in school for as long as I have, mostly so she can keep her awesome job and support our college education. When I was young, from about 4-5 to about 8 years old, she stayed in Edmond during the week and would come home on weekends. She did this because my father is sexist and didn't believe she needed to go to college, and would pick fights with her before her tests to sabotage her.
Their marriage didn't last long. She told me the final straw was when she would come home on the weekend at like, 11 at night, and Bill and I would ask her what was for dinner.
My father is the opposite end of the spectrum. He's selfish, consistently unhappy, and completely unable to relate to people. From a young age, I noticed he treated my brother and I differently. My brother, even if he had helped make the mess, would never have to clean anything ever. I think the only time he did anything was when I faked homework to get out of doing dishes. My brother got to sit around and play games while I did everything.
He often got mad and would scream and yell at me for no reason, and would get madder when I teared up and looked away from his eyes. To this day, I still have trouble looking people in the face, let alone in the eyes, though this has gotten better in recent years.
This continued until we moved away when I was 8. Then he started trying to buy our affection. After all, BOTH of us had turned tail and fled the moment we could. This continued until we were both above 18. However, his favoritism has continued, to the tune of co-signing a $30,000 school loan with my brother which his girlfriend at the time promptly spent. I can't even get my father to fix the fucking air conditioner in my car, since he apparently would rather spend the money putting a shitty engine in my brother's old car than buy me a better one for a few thousand. Keep in mind that he promised he would take care of our car expenses while Bill and I were in college. That lasted not even two years.
I don't often talk to my father. Especially not on the phone, since he's ruined me for that too. Sometimes he just snaps and starts screaming at me on the phone, so now I can't call fucking ANYONE because I'm so afraid someone will start dressing me down.
Of course, if you ask my brother, he'll say he doesn't remember any of this shit. He got the better end of the stick, so of course he'd say that.
So yeah, those are my parents.
tl;dr: My mom is awesome and my father sucks balls.
