Our ancestors had basic needs food, shelter, water and sex.

But these mean nothing if you are dead - it is ingrained into our DNA to be on the look out for potential threats.

Probably why the human race is so interested in living forever. And why there is research into "Project Gilgamesh" which is focuses on anti-ageing!

I also found it interesting given the whole "positive thinking" brigade.

Who in their right mind would want to live forever. It would become a soul crushing existence.
