Boycotting Lethal Weapon S3

Sep 15, 2018 11:47

Don't think I've ever heard of a fanbase actually boycotting a show in order to get it cancelled, but I guess there's a first time for everything. As a huge fan of the Lethal Weapon movies, I was afraid I would hate the tv show, but I really ended up enjoying S1 and S2. Having said that, I'm vehemently opposed to S3. And, no it's not just because ( Read more... )

This controversy had passed me by - sounds bad. It does make you appreciate why our cast and crew are so thankful for SPN...

Nice to see you posting, by the way!

The whole Lethal Weapon thing has been pretty nasty and shameful all the way around. I think most fans of the show would have probably let it go after a month or two if not for the blatant lies and attempts to ruin Clayne's career in order to keep the show going. It's hard to support a show or actor that has acted the way they have.

I've been pretty quiet lately. I got so far behind in posting photos that it felt like I'd never get caught up. I might sit down one day and try and get some posted.

Yes indeed, I'd have thought the nasty machinations being aired in public isn't going to help their cause. How sad.

Oops, that sounded a little Trumplike - at least I didn't put SAD in caps. LOL

Re: the con photos - can sympathise. If I don't do the editing and sorting soon afterwards, I really have to drag myself back to them - and I take 100x fewer photos than you do! Still, I know there are loads of people who really appreciate your pictures, so if you do ever start posting again, we'll be grateful and happy.

It's good to know you are well and still having fun at the conventions!

Yep, things probably wouldn't have gotten so out of hand if it wouldn't have been for a certain actor airing lies on SM.

It is good to hear from folks on LJ since it seems more and more people are moving to other online sites.

I too won't be watching the upcoming season for the same reason.

I wasn't sure how many ppl on my LJ might have watched Lethal Weapon so I was just randomly throwing my thoughts out there about what happened. It's nice to see someone else feels the same about S3. If you haven't heard Clayne's side of the story, I would recommend listening to the one podcast he did a few weeks back. There is quite a bit of language in it if that type of thing offends you and it is pretty long, too. However, he comes across as very honest, and if you read between the lines, it sheds a lot of light on how things unfolded: https://www.youtube.com/embed/u908kIaj12U

What's out in the mainstream media has been blown way out of proportion and supported by lies. The only place I've really seen the other side has been on Social Media and via the podcast Clayne Crawford did a few weeks ago: https://www.youtube.com/embed/u908kIaj12U

If you watch the podcast, be forewarned that there is quite a bit of language in it if that type of thing bothers you.

Oh, and congrats on the baby!! That's awesome. I've not been posting lately either, but I don't have a good excuse. I've just been lazy. :)

Hi.
#blushes#
Well.. she turned one year last month and she is just an awesome kid... almost too good to be my offpring...

And I wondered why the heck they killed Riggs. I though it maybe was a weird cliffhanger - him being alive after all and waking up first thing in S3...
weirder things have been done while re-arranging paysments and gigs for the stars...remember Bobby leaving the SN show for a while due to a too small payment? He returned for a better price after all...
I though this was that kind of trouble - showing the actor, that they might go on without it... might, if he does not accenpt a fairer deal.

Woah... but this is ... cruel.
And mean.
Wondering what his costars think...

Some costars were obviously for it since Damon Wayans had a heavy hand in getting him fired. Jordana Brewster actually quit the show because he Clayne was fired. Not sure how the other actors feel. I have a feeling most of them would have preferred that he was still on the show, especially given the fan backlash.

Haven't been on LJ in a long time, but glad to hear from you.. I won't be watching either.. I didn't know they were killing Riggs, how can the show go on.. The whole thing was ridiculous..

The whole thing would be silly, if it wasn't so repulsive. The fact that they decided to have Roger mourn Riggs in the season premiere when the fans know what Damon Wayans did is a giant slap in the face. Would make me gag if I had to watch it.

On a happy note, glad to hear from you, too. Hope things are going well.

Wow, sorry to read all that. I didn't know any of it other than Riggs was being replaced. Guess I'm going to give it a chance, tho.

I'm sure they will keep some of their fans and maybe even make some new ones, but I would honestly gag if I had to watch Damon Wayans version of Roger pretend to mourn Riggs after the things he said and did both on set and in order to get Clayne fired. I just can't support that type of behavior. The faster the show crashes and burns the happier I will be.

Yeah, I'm a little bitter. ;)
