In fairness, once you get past the rhetoric of the Nation article, Warren's beliefs probably aren't that different from those that I held for a long time. And anyway, from a "uniting the country" point of view, it's probably better for Obama to reassure conservatives, and risk making liberals angry, than to go with a more liberal pick and cement the right-wing image of him as a godless communist.

(Besides, in my opinion, no time like the present for liberals to start getting mad at the guy. More likely to hold him accountable, that way. :D)

(I don't think that's healthy, at this point. Plenty of people are likely to hold him accountable anyway. We do not want another Bush.)

Well, I don't think I was a bad or hateful person at that time. Willfully ignorant, maybe. It doesn't make Warren a better or worse choice, I'm just reluctant to throw figurative stones at the guy. There but for the grace of... wait... ^_~
