Soukyuu no Fafner/Fafner in the Azure

I cried a ridiculous amount of times while marathoning Fafner (Soukyuu no Fafner/Fafner in the Azure) over the past few days. Other than that, I have a few things to say: 1) I personally think that series is a masterpiece, especially given its fairly short length (26 episodes that draw you in and go by so quickly that it seems if you blink once, ( Read more... )

I'm certain you made me watch at least an episode of this, but it must have been at a time when I wasn't focusing on anything. My brain tells me I was bored, but looking at the art, I can't remember a single thing about it. Looks like I'll be giving this a FOR SERIOUS try over the break. :Db

Also, I agree about the whole pilot death thing. At least serious maiming, come on! I'm thinking of GW, of course, but then there are a lot of things wrong with it. (If one of the boys died, we would have far less fanfiction. LOGIC.) UC Gundam series are less hesitant to kill off characters, but it's still not everyone who would probably be toast in real life (because mecha and space fights are totally real life scenarios :B). ANYWAY. I'm interested in this aspect of Fafner.

Now go watch stuff I recommend to you. XP ♥ But seriously, thanks for getting me into at least a few series (like PoT), and I'm sorry I don't go as nuts over some of the others (Pandora Hearts or D.Gray-Man). I'm going to try with Kuroshitsuji? Eeeh. I really need to work on ( ... )

I believe you are right. I think I forced you to watch an episode, but I don't think you really wanted to at the time. It's kind of slow at first, but once you make it past the first episode, it gets better. If you feel like giving it a serious try over the break, I've got all of the DVDs except for the back-story one, but it's not vital to the plot. If you ever feel like coming to BA, we could watch it together; I think it would probably be even better that way ( ... )

HUZZAH! I might try to find it online before then, but if I haven't watched it by the time I come in (I hope to be in Tulsa/BA from Christmas until probably New Year's Day), we can watch it together for sure ( ... )

I know there was a sub floating around at one point; that's how I originally watched the end of the series because it took Geneon forever to release the last two DVDs. It's pretty good. I like both the English and Japanese audio sets for the show ( ... )
