Well 3 months have passed since I initial submitted a holiday request. I have requested holidays from June 10th to June 17th. I have received approval for the holiday on June 11th but no paperwork on the second week from June 12th to June 17th ( Read more... )

I know had to restart pc before completing post so did not want to loose my train of thought. It has been corrected and updated.

I I-mailed Rene and Todd on a final ditch effort so that I get something in paper as proof of days off.

Basically I just want something in paper or electronic message so my arse is not hanging out in the wind in case they decide they want to use that as an excuse for firing me one day.

I'm assuming by Manager you mean your Operations Manager.

It may have come to the point where you may have to go to HR, or request a skip level meeting with the Sr Business Manager (probably Ian).

If you do go this route, ensure you have the exact dates you escalated the issue. Also, were you promised any specific turn-around time that didn't happen? Did the manager fail to provide a new timeline?

Sorry to hear about the vacation mess. The last thing you want on your work history is a stain saying you were terminated due to job abandonment.

Just keep in mind that not everyone in this world sees a skip level meeting as a matter of process. Some people take that sort of thing as underhanded, and hold a grudge.

I know. I am not sure if I want to go that way. I don't like to rock the boat that much unless I have to. Mainly because it tends to piss off someone somehow. Secondly its a pain in the arse. Especially if I were to go that method I would still be under my managers umbrella. Knowing people the way I think I do. I don't think she would like it much. Ranting here is one way of releasing my frustrations and tends not to hurt anyone. Mainly because if ya don't like it don't read it.

Just makes one feel better sometimes to rant about whats bothering them.

hence why my first response. If I rock the boat then I probably end up on that list. Near the top somewhere. If I haven't already.

For example when I appealed my PA with you as my supervisor, I don't think you liked that much. As such rocking the boat tends to appear to not do much but get ya tossed in the water.

Instead I am trying last ditch efforts in a more polite direct approach within management.

This way, It does not seem as a threat. If I go to HR it makes my manager look bad. If my manager looks bad then I look bad mainly because shit rolls down hill. I know I have been in that position many times and had to force that position many times in my past.

There has to be a more logical way of going around it then whiningand complaining without rocking the boat.

On this note I'll try and see.

I never held you appealling your PA against you. I justified, or attempted to, my rating.

The only people I disliked were people who were complete liars. People who
said I promised something I did not, or said I was out to get them when I didn't have enough time in the day to take a coffee break, let alone be a vindictive asshole.

In particular, one woman was out to get me canned, saying I was cold hearted, evil, and after her. I was just trying to do my job, by expecting her not to fall asleep at her desk for 45 minutes, and expect to be paid for her time. LOL

Just remember, if nobody ever rocks the boat, the rats will stay on board and eat your food rations and spread the plague. :)

Due to someone pointing out to me that my reply could be misunderstood, I removed it. The offer still stands. Get me a paper with the dates, I'll see what I can do.
