I've finished The Phenomenon of Man, by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. It was recommended to me by a friend who was impressed by the synthesis of evolution, Christianity, and thoughts amiable to shamanism (I am both a devout, orthodox Christian and a shaman. Hmm. I too have a problem with that definition of evil. I believe evil most often stems from selfishness and a lack of empathy.

I believe I will be skipping this author, from your description, his writing style would probably eventually cause me to yell, GET TO THE POINT!
