I'm only one guy.
I'm not even a particularly great guy. I'm not a hero, or a leader, or any sort of really important person. I'm an ordinary guy who works for the police department and plays in a band when he's not working. I've never been that bad and I've never been that great. I just sort of am in the middle. And I'm okay with that.
But the truth is my life isn't entirely of my own making. I am who I am today because of the influence of a lot of people. From my family to my friends and my colleagues and even some people who are pretty much strangers...if anything had changed in the last thirty-three years I wouldn't be the same person. Having a best friend to lean on has made things so much easier in good and bad times, and so does having a friend who can make pretty much anything happen, even if it sort of freaks me out.
Every experience helped me grow, and helped me learn, made me feel, made me think, and shaped me into a more complete person. So I'm grateful for all of them, because I really like who I am.
Even if I'm just another guy.
