What the hell is going on?

Jack has been attacking me a lot. (Jack, as in, my cat.) Like, I walk by and he jumps up and acts like he's going to pounce on my feet. Sometimes he does pounce on my feet. And he jumps up on my lap and attacks my arm, and bites it and scratches it with his back claws ( Read more... )

He's got the Nutties! raptusanxieux March 3 2005, 12:51:02 UTC
Sometimes kittens like to play rough. My two play together like that, but when my girl was the only cat, sometimes she'd do the ruffian stuff on me. Don't engage when he does it, and maybe get the spray bottle out to really discourage him.
Feet are a favorite target of playful felines when they get the nutties.

Heehee, I don't mind it so much. It's pretty cute. But I was afraid that it might mean he was pissed at me for being gone so much...I mean, I cuddle and play with him and stuff when I am here, so...I dunno.

Sounds like he's trying to get your attention and play with you. I would tussle with him and give him some good lovins' and then he'll probably leave you alone.

If his behavior becomes really bothersome, like he's clawing you a lot, I would get a little spray bottle and when he does it, spray him once and say "No!" in a serious voice. He'll learn quickly that that is not an appropriate way to play.

Oh man...I use the spray bottle a LOT...He's always scratching my mattress, and it's starting to tear...And I spray him when I see him doing it, but he's not learning! =P
