I went to a woman today, a "field clearer," I guess. I don't really know what else to call her. She clears your energy field of unwanted energy, spirits, whatever, and calls in your divine guides to get rid of all the STUFF you're hanging on to...I felt so heavy, tired, and depressed when I got there, and left feeling light, cheerful, and energetic ( Read more... )

Seriously, she cleared SO much stuff. But apparently she has more to do, too, she wants to see me again in a week.

It wouldn't be "ingenuine" if the woman herself thought what she was doing was genuine. In that case you wouldn't be able to blame her for "scamming" people.

I haven't really ever had the chance to learn about alternative forms of medicine (I suppose that is a sufficient word), so I can't really say anything to either end. All I know is that if it makes me feel better, it can't be all bad, so there's no reason not to do it.

Well, the feeling that I got when I was sitting there is really hard to explain. Like there really was something else present...Something nice, and I really felt a lot better when we were done. A lot more protected and a lot less depressed. And she wasn't parading around in some weird costume looking into a crystal ball. She had like a pen and paper and that was it. =P

No offense but that sounds a bit...sketchy. Man, if I was French I'd wanna die too. I've heard they never bathe...haha sorry for being mean but I'd never do that kinda thing (go see a psychic.)
I almost did a Wiccan thing a few years back...witchschool.com or something. Didn't have time to do all the lessons but I slowly lost interest.

witchschool.com? I'm sorry but that sounds sketchier than this. That sounds more like pathetic people trying to get money out of you than this woman. Sorry, I don't mean to sound mean. =P

Heh...I think that sometimes science and spirituality can go together. (Maybe not religion, but spirituality...) But that's just me.

If you know how to speak/read French you can probably find old newspaper clippings - if it were the US I'd say go to a university and find old papers on microfiche, but I'm not sure how to go about that for records in a foreign country.

Congratulations, you're like the first person who didn't basically say that I was stupid for going to that woman. That's refreshing. ^_^

I know, I don't know how to do that either...My mom was like, "It's not worth it, you don't want to know about that stuff," and I'm like, "Actually, yes, I do." =P I dunno, someone told me that the...erm...New York Times? was international during that timeframe, and that it was probably covering stuff in France in English, too. But I dunno.

I don't know much about France in the thirties...I know that after the War, there were a fair number of English-language French papers because of the American's involvement in liberating them from Germany, but I'm not sure about pre-German invasion.

Do you have an idea of where south of Paris? Paris sits pretty far north in the country - there is a BUNCH of France that falls "south" of the capital city. Knowing a region of France or, even better, a town/village would narrow the search down immensely ( ... )

I definitely think you can do it on your own, but sometimes, you can't. I was in a really deep slump and I had no energy to get myself out of it, and I really needed the push of someone else. And this is a woman I have met before, and I really felt something at work when I had the session with her, and it was something very powerful and protective. And she didn't charge me an arm and a leg, so I'm not worried that she's just doing it to make tons of money off of me. If she had charged me like $150, that would be different. =P
