I think that a lot of Linux users actually do use antivirus software, they just don't use "live" scanners (as those eat up resources and do cause lag) thus run scheduled scans (I remember some popular Windows AV programs having this feature until corporations decided to bastardize their software), but you seldom hear anyone talk about it, unless you bring the subject up. There are a myriad number of programs out there for the sole purpose of security on one's "tux box", and a lot of avid users are quite anal on the amount of security they put into their machines. Seems anyone who's used their system for over a year well knows the importance of constant updates (as long as it doesn't affect certain programs/dependencies). It's not immune, but a lot of users also do a shittonne of maintenance to ensure it stays safe. Just sayin

Macs are not as vulnerable as PCs yet, but that will change. I noticed that they already have fake AVs out there for Macs. They are a little harder to install, and to my knowledge, they can't install themselves.
