Hmm... let's just say that if I want to actually get anything written, group writes are not my thing. :)
I'm sure I will do much better this evening... but this morning's midnight write was pretty unproductive for me. (Though I did get this amazing run-on sentence that I will be sure to put on my journal when I get home from work!)
Hi. I know you have no idea who I am or me you, but I cliked on the link in your signiture at nanowrimo.org and read your entry.
I started like around 1 or 2 last night. I was for some reason really tired but I really wanted to write. I wrote almost 2000 words before I went to sleep. I was only going to write 1700.
I liked how your fic sounds, though. Very intresting. :D
My internal editor insisted that I leave spell check on, but my word processor gives you convenient suggestions on the spot so it's easy to correct, and lets you skip-in-document made up words and names.
The subject I am trying not to budge on is going back and trying to make things more clear. That kind of stuff should be done in editing when I go back to put in proper foreshadowing and fix inconsistences, not now!!! >_<
Overall mine is going great :D I can't wait to start reading yours once you post it!
UGH. My internal editor wants to rant, gut me, and bury me six feet under. In that order. I've always been nitpicky when it comes to writing so it's really hard for me to not edit during my writing. After some 3k words I'm out. I can never do what you did (turn the font intsee bitsee so you can't read it). Lol I think I'll be stressing out more if I did that, because I'll be constantly losing my spot in the story when my mind wanders (which happens to often). By the time I enlargen the font it will not longer be a story but just a garbled mess! I hope there's a market for that!
Have fun with you writing, and I hope it goes well. I'll read it when I get a few Z's. I'm finished for today so now I'll... you know... sleep a LOT. *g*
Hang in there. You got it done, and that's what counts. :) Try to tell your editor that they can have at it *after* you've written what you want/must for the day, and even then it may not be the best idea. I gave my work a brief once over for stupid errors before posting it, but that was all. It was really hard not to scrap bits of it. ;p
I know what you mean about font size. First I had it on 8pt, and since I can't see worth a damn I couldn't really read it. It was fine until I *felt* myself making typos and wanted to correct them quickly. Then I had to squint and strain to see, which wasted even more time. So I switched to 10pt in a happy compromise.
If you still find that your editor wants to strangle you in your sleep, try writing at a different time in the day (If you can). Apparently it confuses them out of their routine and they forget to show up sometimes. ;)
