1) As I mentioned earlier the motivation for the villain seems fudged, and by fudged I mean incredibly fudged. Initially it's implied that he's being motivated by greed, but as the film goes on and you really dissect his actions it can only be concluded that he's completely off his rocker. His actions simply do not make any sort of economic sense, and even somebody who completely failed high-school economics is going to see it

1: The big problem with the economics isn't the act of selling weapons to both sides, it's the fact that advanced weapons systems cost a huge amount of money. It's a huge portion of the US Budget, and it's entirely unlikely that some dirt poor terrorists are going to be able to afford a cutting edge missile
