An Entry for Positively SPN's Hunter's Journal contest for July 2013.

Since my last foray into creating new dialogue for a canon scene was so successful, here we go again. This time I'm combining Supernatural with one of my favorite movies (so to speak).  Starring Charlie and Dean as... Dorothy and... (the scarecrow?). How the ( Read more... )

I love the sibling vibe and the friendship between Charlie and Dean. That little moment when he kissed her on the forehead is one of my favorite things ever!

I'm so glad that Charlie is still on Show.

Thanks for a fun story!

You're welcome! Glad you liked the story. Charlie's one of my favorite characters too.

I love the way you've tied this together with Wizard of Oz - you've evoked a good resonance between the characters and situations - and the linked transitions between the scenes made it feel like a connected whole.

I really think they're unwittingly helping each other work through 'stuff' - I like how analytical your Charlie was -- the reluctant hero led on a great adventure/journey in the hope of getting back 'home', Dean's moments of silliness that make us think of him in earlier seasons, and that despite Charlie's scolding, Dean doesn't play by the rules...

"There are no guns in Moondor," he argued, "but that doesn't mean I'm not packin'." has just got to be the best line ever!

Thank you! I had meant to respond to this when you first commented but life intruded (as it always does). Writing Charlie was a big challenge -- I've never written her before -- but she was fun to write. I'd like to do more Charlie stories, but the ideas have to come my way; at this point, no plot bunnies in the oven (and no time to write them, even if I had them).

Oh - and happy birthday!!!! Wanted to do something special for that, but again, time and online time just not there right now.

Thanks for your comments!
