OOC: Backstory//Timeline
BACKSTORY.
1988
[February 28] Born to Amelie and Francis Dubois.
1995
[January] Moves to Paris for the year.
[December] Returns to Liverpool.
1999
[August] Receives letter from Hogwarts. Her mother's friend Ifan, Nick Trift's uncle, reveals to the family that he is a wizard. He takes Amarante under his wing and teaches her the ways of the wizarding world, as well as taking her to Diagon Alley to shop for her school supplies.
[September] FIRST YEAR. Ama has a very depressing first year at Hogwarts, ending up rather friendless. She despises everything that Hogwarts stands for, but manages to do well in school, because she's a Ravenclaw. She can't just do bad no matter how much she dislikes the subjects.
2000
[June] Returns to Liverpool for summer vacation. Decides over the summer that magic can obviously be explained away by some sort of genetic mutation, and begins to conduct experiments using her own blood.
[September] SECOND YEAR. Returns to Hogwarts in much better spirits, and actually makes some friends. She continues her experiments on her fellow students, having stolen some equipment from a Muggle research lab. She gets blood from whoever is willing, occassionally sneaking into the hospital wing after particularly bloody Quidditch matches to "borrow" some blood.
[November] Meets a new first year, Bri, and becomes acquainted with her, though she gets the distinct impression that she creeps Bri out a little.
2001
[February] Gets into a rather ridiculous verbal fight with Wind over her research.
[March] Befriends Jack MacDonald after have a long conversation with him about his scientist mother.
[April] Decides to take Arithmancy and Care of Magical Creatures as her electives for third year.
[September] THIRD YEAR.
[December] Gets in large amounts of trouble when she is caught taking blood from a first year. Nearly gets expelled, but just manages to weasel her way out of it by turning over all of her research equipment and vowing never to continue her experiments while under the roofs of Hogwarts. She must take a haitus from her research and figure out how to continue without getting caught.
2002
[June] Spends the entire summer finding places to "borrow" new research equipment from. Spends nearly all of her savings on a special box that will allow her to carry all the equipment into Hogwarts undetected, and store it undetected.
[August] Meets Nick Trift in Diagon Alley while shopping for school supplies with his uncle.
[September] FOURTH YEAR.
[November] Meets Arisha and Addie in the library.
2003
[June] Returns to Liverpool. Ends up spending the summer in Paris with a family friend, while her mum tours with a band of gypsies. Has her first real snog with a French boy, who had unfortunately not yet mastered the art of French kissing. Ama was disappointed.
[August] Is much surprised to receive a Prefect badge in the mail.
[September] FIFTH YEAR.
[December] Has a close call with her experiments. Takes a few months off to make herself less freaked out.
2004
[February] Starts experimenting again. Temporarily dates a fifth year Hufflepuff. Has a few good snogs, but ends up dumping him because he starts to get in the way of her experiments, asking too many questions.
[June] OWLs are a success: Arithmancy (O), Astronomy (O), Herbology (E), Potions (E), Transfiguration (E), Charms (E), DADA (A), History (A), CoMC (A). She returns home and ends up spending the summer in Iceland. Her mother has a good friend amongst the gypsies there, and she visits her. Ama decides to come instead of staying in Liverpool because she's heard Iceland is beautiful. She isn't disappointed.
[July]She meets a positively beautiful gypsy girl, Lilja, and realizes that the attractions she feels towards her aren't very heterosexual. After much inward debating, she comes to the conclusion that she is, in fact, bisexual, and snogs the girl for the rest of the summer.
[September] SIXTH YEAR.
[October] She dates a Gryffindor seventh year, but he doesn't compare to her gypsy love. So, she breaks up with him, presumably for his own good. She can't seem to come out of the closet, and no one else seems to be able to at Hogwarts. She's disappointed, because it would be nice to be able to date girls as well as boys.
[December] Ama spends Christmas break in Iceland, where she thankfully gets to see Lilja again. She's missed her more than she realized. Ama tells her, reluctantly, about the wizarding life. She has a feeling this might not be technically allowed in the wizarding world, but she needs to share it with Lilja, who takes it quite well. They promise each other they will stay in touch, made easier by the fact that they can now use owls to communicate.
2005
[March] Ama finds a stray kitten while on a trip to Hogsmeade. She takes the kitten under her wing, naming her Calliope. The kitten is all black, with a big chunk out of her right ear.
[June] She returns home, and promptly leaves for Mexico with Lilja's band of gypsies and her mother. The summer is absolutely wonderful and full of sun and ruins. Ama falls in love with the ancient ruins, and realizes that she is also in love with Lilja. It's harder this year to leave her and return to Hogwarts. It's also hard to leave the almost constant sunlight.
