I just found out something wierd.

Today, my capoeira trainng and routine paid off. All that ground work and flipping about taught me something. I was in the jogo and did a jumping spin kick and did not land properly on my feet, but when I did land, nothing but my hands and feet touched the ground and I felt myself doing capoeira defenses to get back up.
