I sure am a Neil Gaiman fan! When I was in high school, I used to go the Borders (the first big bookstore like that on Maui) and sit on the floor next to the graphic novels section and read my way through Sandman.

I'm also a big fan of his non-graphic fiction, as well as his picturebooks, especially The Day I Swapped My Dad For Two Goldfish.

And Mirrormask was amazing.

What do you think of him?

I love him, i just wrote my senior thesis on The Sandman. The only other thing i've read by him (besides some sandman spinoffs) is this comic series he did for marvel called 1602, which is about all these superhero's, but set in 1602. It's really good, putting the X-Men through the spanish inquisition and stuff.

I just got Fun Home two days ago in the mail! I have been eagerly and not-so-patiently waiting until tomorrow (later today really) which is my day off, so I can snuggle down and read it cover to cover. I am supremely pysched. Not to mention that I also got a copy of the 30th Anniversary edition of Schoolhouse Rock on DVD which I also plan to watch tomorrow.

Fun Home won the ALA's GLBT Round Table's Stonewall Award for Nonfiction this year.

I'm really excited to be part of an organization an profession that gets to recognize good books.

Yay librarians!
