Yey for lois lowry! I owe a lot to the giver. Fun home was really good i though, it was one of those books i keep thinking about, I'm not a fan of her comics, but this was really good. are you a neil gaiman fan?
I sure am a Neil Gaiman fan! When I was in high school, I used to go the Borders (the first big bookstore like that on Maui) and sit on the floor next to the graphic novels section and read my way through Sandman.
I'm also a big fan of his non-graphic fiction, as well as his picturebooks, especially The Day I Swapped My Dad For Two Goldfish.
I love him, i just wrote my senior thesis on The Sandman. The only other thing i've read by him (besides some sandman spinoffs) is this comic series he did for marvel called 1602, which is about all these superhero's, but set in 1602. It's really good, putting the X-Men through the spanish inquisition and stuff.
good omens, which i found out was written in part by gaiman is also worth a read, its like hitchhiker's guide but with christian mythology instead of sci fi
I just got Fun Home two days ago in the mail! I have been eagerly and not-so-patiently waiting until tomorrow (later today really) which is my day off, so I can snuggle down and read it cover to cover. I am supremely pysched. Not to mention that I also got a copy of the 30th Anniversary edition of Schoolhouse Rock on DVD which I also plan to watch tomorrow.
